To Do Before Feb. 16th!

I can hardly believe my littlest princess will be 1 in just over 1 month.
Here are the things I'd like to get ready before her joint birthday party with her cousin Piper who was born on the same day:
- Catch up on her scrapbook.
- Print out the blog entries of my pregnancy with Adrienne.
- Make a video / slideshow of her 1st year.
- Plan her party:
     *  invitations
     *  decor
     *  food / drinks
     *  coordinate with Amanda

Here are some things I'd like to get done in the next few days / weeks:
-  Thank You notes from the kiddos for Christmas gifts.
-  Save photos / videos from 2011
-  Finish gift for baby Lanie
-  Write MSTA article

Wish me luck.  I hope I can get some of these items checked off soon! :)

To-Do-List Tuesday

A friend has recently added some cute themes to her blog: "Wordless Wednesdays" being one of them.

I'm stealing her idea and posting my weekly To Do List on Tuesdays. I call it To-Do-List Tuesday.

And, here's mine for this week! :)

It's a Monday!

I had such a great's night sleep last night! I actually feel like I have some energy today!!! I've been having such difficulty sleeping what with trying to get comfortable and having to get up to use the bathroom numerous times throughout the night, and then add in Nick's new snoring habit and I've been getting very little sleep! (While I know this is nothing compared to the sleepless nights we'll soon be having, I'm still going to complain about it! ;)) Part of the reason for the good sleep is that Nick slept down on the futon! Poor guy. But, I tell ya what, it really made a difference for me! We only have a full-sized bed, and with my ever-expanding belly, it's really getting to be a tight fit. I actually slept so well, I didn't even get up once to use the bathroom! And, when thinking about the new snoring habit, we're wondering if Nick has always made these weird noises during his sleep and, since I'm such a deep sleeper, maybe I just never heard them before. It's not just an occasional snore that has him on the futon...........he also makes these weird whimpering noises in his sleep. The worst was a few nights ago.......he was sleeping away on his side and started snoring a bit. It was bad enough with the little "ZZZZZZZ" sound when he'd breathe in, but then he added this crazy "HAHHHHHHHHH" when he'd breathe out. It was almost like a cartoon. I was actually laughing out-loud when he was doing this and when I tried to imitate it for him in the morning, I was laughing so hard, I couldn't even make the noise right! :) So, I guess this has been a few days in the making, but he agreed to sleep elsewhere last night so I could get some decent sleep. Right now, when I am not getting any sleep, it just amplifies my discomfort. I'm not only crampy and sore, I'm also tired and feel as though I have NO energy; the smallest tasks / errands take everything I have! Hoping today is a great day. I feel great already!

Here's a bit of what we did this weekend:

Saturday:
- We planned to go to the Port Sanilac Ice Festival, but we had a grooming appointment for Arwen at 10:00. I thought it would maybe take an hour or so, but, since she's a Husky, it took 4 HOURS for her to get completely brushed out and dried. So, we didn't get her back until 2 pm, so we skipped out on the ice fest.

- Rather than the Ice Festival, we went to lunch at Pizza Hut. While waiting for our pizza, Ali was pretty cute. She sat in a booster seat (rather than a high chair) and she did pretty well in it. She got down a few times and sat on Jake's lap for a bit coloring with him. I have to say that watching the two of them together just melts my heart. They are so cute! It's adorable to me how much Ali loves her big brother! And Jake does a very good job with her (some days better than others, of course). He is patient and kind to her, he share his toys with her, and he even tries to calm her tantrums. It's tough being a 2-year old, I think. Knowing what you want, but not being able to express it accurately; how frustrating! Add in that you want to be independent and do things yourself as well as a good dose of plain old stubbornness and my poor little 2-year-old does a good job with what she has, I think! :)

- After Pizza Hut, we went to the grocery store and then went to pick up the doggies from the groomer's. Arwen needed to be brushed badly. She gets such a thick undercoat that her back legs get all clumpy with the downy fur that insulates her outside in the cold. That soft, cottony undercoat is terribly thick and takes forever to dry. Usually when she gets a bath, you smell "wet dog" for at least 2 days afterward. The groomer she went to on Saturday did such a great job drying her, she doesn't smell at all! Little Aragorn has to go to the groomer when Arwen goes, mostly just for moral support. Arwen has terrible anxiety if she's alone and will either destroy things or defecate all over the place. Aragorn is the buffer. He also needed his nails trimmed, so he went along with her. Now we have two cute, clean pups with bandanas and trimmed toes!

Sunday:
- SUPERBOWL! Yah, we're not really into football here at the Richmond household. In fact, Nick and I had to specifically look up what day the Super Bowl was and who was in it last week. HAHA. That's pretty bad. We don't live under a rock or anything, I guess we just don't pay attention to that stuff very much. Well, I tried putting the Super Bowl on a few times, but by 6:45 when they were just starting the coin-toss, I was a little annoyed. It said it started at 6. I'm not the type of girl who likes to wait around for things or to be off-schedule. 6:00 means 6:00, not 6:05, and DEFINITELY not 6:45. I mean, the WHOLE day was dedicated to pre-game stuff. Shouldn't that have given them enough time to get all of that junk done so that the game could actually START at 6:00?! I guess if I were in the Super Bowl, I'd want to drag out every moment of it, too, but since I'm not in it and never will be, I just find it annoying! ;) Anyway, Ali saved me from the misery of trying to pretend to enjoy the game by insisting we watch Ratatouille. She calls is "Coooooking" and she LOVES that movie right now. She's even started to give play-by-plays about what's happening in the movie, which is pretty entertaining coming from a 2-year-old.

- We pretty much stayed around the house the whole day. Nick did run to Sam's Club to get a few things for us and for his mom, but other than that, it was a pretty low-key day for us. Around 4:00 I was having some pretty intense contractions. They were lasting about 1 minute each and were about 3-5 minutes apart. I had them for about 2 hours, then all of a sudden, they stopped. I was starting to think that it might be the "real thing" and was getting ready to get the last-minute things and call my doctor, but then they just stopped! This waiting game is so frustrating to me. All this activity and then it just stops randomly, as if this little girl is saying "JUST KIDDING, MOM!" She's going to be a feisty one, I think. But, the good news is that I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, which is FULL TERM! That means that whenever I DO have this little doll, I should get to bring her home with me right away and not have to leave her at the hospital like I had to with Ali. That was probably the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life, so I'm very excited to think that I won't have to go through that again.

Today, I have feel like I have kind of a big "TO-DO" list, but really, it's probably not much compared to what other people are doing. Here it is:
What I've done already:
- made breakfast for Nick, Ali, & I (bagel, egg, & cheese sandwich for Nick, bagel for Ali, and scrambled eggs with toast for me, and of course, some coffee) -> Nick's mom got Ali this little ceramic mug around Christmas time, so she likes to have her "coffee" in the morning, too. It's mostly chocolate coffee creamer, but she loves to look like mommy & daddy with her morning cup o' joe!
- cleaned the house & did dishes
- gave the dog a bath
- called hospital & insurance companies about my billing from the over-night stay I had Jan 20th.

Still left TO-DO:
- Pick up bill from hospital & drop it off at my work
- Go look at phones at the Sprint store (Nick wants to change from Verizon to Sprint & he's waiting on me to find a phone I like)
- Write an "About Me" blurb for an MSTA election position I'm running for
- Work on finishing knitting baby's blanket (I'm almost done!!!)

So, like I said, not really that much, but compared to the lack of energy I've had lately, it's nice to have a list of things to do and feel accomplished by getting these few things done!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope it's kind to you!
